Speedboat Broken Free From Moorings – Saturday 17th March 2018
Crew Paged: 13:43pm Solent Coastguard requested the launch of the ILB to recover a 6 metre speedboat that had broken free from its moorings in Langstone Harbour. Once on scene...
While the crew were still on station Solent Coastguard called the Lifeboat Operations Manager to ask if the D Class could launch to speak to a yacht that had called in to say that had run aground in Langstone Harbour and then had lost comms. Portsmouth’s D Class made way to the scene to find that the vessel was free however the engine was not starting so the D Class took them under tow and towed them to the Hayling Island Ferry Pontoon.
