Speedboat Broken Free From Moorings – Saturday 17th March 2018
Crew Paged: 13:43pm Solent Coastguard requested the launch of the ILB to recover a 6 metre speedboat that had broken free from its moorings in Langstone Harbour. Once on scene...
Bembridge Lifeboat had picked up a 30ft vessel south of Selsey. As Bembridge Lifeboat towed the vessel closer to Langstone Harbour they had asked if Portsmouth Lifeboat would come and take over the tow into Langstone. It was decided by Portsmouth’s Lifeboat Operations Manager that indeed we would launch to assist. The crew were paged at 19:03pm however launched at 19:50pm as that is when Bembridge were near the agreed rendezvous. Portsmouth Lifeboat took over the tow and proceeded into Langstone Harbour where they put the casualty vessel onto its mooring.
Solent Coastguard stood the Lifeboat down to return to station at: 20:25pm
